My husband had just started a new job before we got married so we needed to take a short honeymoon and decided that Seattle was the perfect spot! And it really was! We were there for 3 nights, 4 days and it was just the right amount of time.
We had the cutest Airbnb loft walking distance to Pike Place Market and the weather was shockingly sunny and beautiful; we went the first weekend in May and it only rained once for a couple of hours. We explored Pike Place Market, visited the original Starbucks (I used to work at Starbucks for four years during college), saw the infamous Gum Wall, and went to a Seattle Sounders soccer game. We also enjoyed some ice cold beers at Fremont Brewing's Urban Beer Garden on the way to see the Fremont Troll, a sculpture made from rebar steel, wire, and reinforced concrete. You can find the troll holding a real life Volkswagen Beetle in one hand.
One of the highlights of our trip was going up to the Space Needle with its amazing panoramic views! There are two floors and a rotating glass floor (added since we've been there) , which are a must see when visiting Seattle. Another favorite was a boat ride we took where we were able to see the Seattle skyline, the iconic Mount Rainier, and learn a little bit more about Seattle through our amazing tour guide. Our favorite way to end the trip was by having a drink at the The Nest rooftop bar. The view is incredible, especially if you go at sunset like we did. It was our last stop before we headed to the airport for our flight home and it was great to finish Seattle off with a breathtaking view of the city we had come to love the last few days.
